8.55g. 18mm. AU/AU. An outstanding exemplar with fresh mint luster, crisp relief details, and delicately developed old natural toning; a minute scratch in front of the portrait is noted, yet the coin retains very strong overall eye appeal. 

Stater in name and typus of Alexander III the Great. 

Obv.: Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with griffin. 

Rev.: Nike standing to left, holding wreath and stylis; in outer left field, MI and below, at her feet, monogram within wreath; “ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY” at sides.
