The obverse shows a coat of arms with a knight’s helmet, mantling, and a shield.

The inscription on reverse:

1822 / LXXV / 1897 / NEUBAD.

This privately issued commemorative medal probably marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of Neubad (now Neibāde), a Baltic seaside resort established in 1822. Neubad became a popular destination for the German-speaking population of Livonia and Courland and was later incorporated into the modern Latvian town of Saulkrasti.
