Russia Bronze Medal 1912 - In commemoration of the unveiling of the monument to Alexander III in Moscow - PCGS SP62

According to the PCGS census, this specimen is the top-graded example. A delightful lustrous medal with elegant dark chocolate brown toning, safely preserved despite minor scratches on the slab. A variant of the medal with a reduced diameter, matching that of the commemorative rouble, is exceedingly rare compared to the larger diameter version. Medalier: A. Griliches. Diakov 1528.2. Obv.: Within a circular inscription, a bust of Alexander III facing left. At the truncation of the neck, the initials А Г (A. Griliches). Circular inscription: 

АЛЕКСАНДРЪ III ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОССIЙСКIЙ | РОДИЛСЯ 26 ФЕВРАЛЯ 1845 ГОДА ВЪ БОЗѢ ПОЧИЛЪ 20 ОКТ . 1894 ГОДА; 

Rev.: Depiction of the monument to Emperor Alexander III: a bronze statue seated on a throne, wearing a mantle and the Imperial Crown. Alexander III holds a scepter and an orb in his hands. The statue rests on a stepped granite pedestal, with bronze double-headed eagles with outstretched wings at each corner. Below, the initials А - Г (A. Griliches). Circular inscription:
