9.89g. 24x31mm. Small chips on enamel. Gold and enamel. Hallmark "56" and unreadable marks on the loop and on the connecting ring "AK". The loop has a break. We are aware of a only one gold jeton of the same design with another surname "ИСТВУДЪ" and only one silver with surname "ФРИЦМАНЪ". Exceptionally rare!
Obv.: In the center of the round jeton, on a white background, there is an embossed coat of arms of the city of Narva (on a blue field, two fish (graylings) with a sword above them and a saber below), crowned with a crown. Surrounding the coat of arms, within two gold rings, is a golden circular inscription on a guilloché red enamel background. "Т-во НАРВСК. СУК. МАНУФ. Б. СУК. ФАБ. БАР. А. Л. ШТИГЛИЦА * " (Товарищиство Нарвской суконной мануфактуры бывшей фабрики барона А. Л. Штиглица / The Narva Cloth Manufactory Association, formerly the factory of Baron A. L. Stieglitz).
Rev.: In the center, there are the numbers "50" inlaid on red guilloché enamel, framed in gold on a white circle, which is encircled by two gold rings with a golden inscription between them on a blue background. " * 17 МАЯ 1898 * Э . В . ЛEМОНIУС ".
The jeton is topped with the winged helmet of Hermes, the god of commerce.
It is likely that this jeton was produced as a gift to a major shareholder or engineer in honor of the company's 50th anniversary or it might have been given as a gift to employees who had worked at the manufactory for 50 years.
