Obv.: Stylized composition featuring two aircraft in flight: a large passenger jet in the foreground bearing the inscription TAP AIR PORTUGAL, and a smaller aircraft above it, symbolizing the historical development of Portuguese civil aviation. The dates 1944 and 1979 mark the founding of TAP Air Portugal and its 35th anniversary respectively.

Rev.: Large geometric composition dominated by converging rays forming an abstract arrow or runway perspective, with bold inscription 35 ANOS (35 Years) in the lower field.

This medal commemorates the 35th anniversary of TAP Air Portugal, founded in 1944 as Transportes Aéreos Portugueses. The obverse imagery reflects the technological evolution of civil aviation in Portugal, from early propeller aircraft to modern jet aviation, while the reverse’s abstract design emphasizes progress, direction, and continuity. Designed in 1979 by João Moura, the medal belongs to the tradition of late-20th-century corporate and institutional medals, combining modernist graphic language with commemorative purpose.
