26.94g. AU/AU. A very attractive specimen, showing traces of mint luster beneath beautiful old toning and exhibiting some prooflike motifs.

Bank of England issue.

KM Tn1; Spink 3768.

Very rare.

Re-struck from Spanish American 8 Real coin issued by the Bank of England with a value of 5 shillings to supplement a deficiency in British regal coinage. The coins were struck by the Soho Mint, Birmingham between 1804 and 1811 though all bear the date 1804.
