The liberation of Czechoslovakia in 1945 marked the final stage of military operations in Central Europe during the closing months of the Second World War. The campaign culminated in the spring of 1945, when major cities and industrial regions were freed after a series of coordinated offensives. The end of hostilities restored state institutions, enabled the return of civil administration, and brought an end to years of occupation and wartime destruction.
