3.70g. 18mm. XF/AU. An appealing exemplar retaining some mint luster, enhanced by old, natural toning. 

Obv.: Laureate head of Augustus right, “(CAESAR AVGVS)TVS - DIVI F PATER PAT(RIAE)”. 

Rev.: Caius and Lucius Caesars, togate, standing facing, resting hand on shields, spears between them; above, simpulum and lituus; “(AVGVSTI F COS DESIG) PRINC IVVENT / C L CAESAR(ES)” in exergue.

Caius Caesar and Lucius Caesar, sons of Marcus Agrippa and Julia the Elder, were adopted by Augustus as joint-heirs. This issue commemorates their appointment as designated consuls and firsts among the youth.
