24.91g. XF-/AU. A very attractive specimen, showing traces of mint luster beneath beautiful old toning and exhibiting some prooflike motifs. 

Engraver’s initials B·M· - Bartolomé Maura Montaner. 

Mint officials’ initials P·G· - V· (Félix Miguel Peiró Rodrigo, Antonio García González and Remigio Vega Vega).

Very rare. 


Puerto Rico remained as a Spanish possession till end of 19th century, when Spain conceded autonomy. Very short after, the USA started war against Spain, and as results of Paris Treaty, on 1899, Puerto Rico was assigned to the USA.
