The Mekhitarist School of Pangalti in Constantinople was a leading Armenian Catholic institution during the late Ottoman period. Known for its rigorous curriculum and cultural prominence, the school awarded these medals to students for outstanding academic merit. Such pieces are scarce today and represent a significant part of Armenian educational and communal history within the Ottoman Empire.
