The Munich Oktoberfest was first held on 17 October 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. What began as a public horse race on the meadows later named Theresienwiese evolved into one of the largest folk festivals in Europe. 

This 1910 medal commemorates the 100th anniversary (Das Hundertjährige Jubiläum) of the event and reflects both Bavarian dynastic pride and the cultural significance of Oktoberfest within the Kingdom of Bavaria - heritage that continues to define Munich and remains part of the cultural identity of modern Germany.
