(1724 St. Petersburg Mint - 1914 Petrograd Mint - 1924 Leningrad Mint).
The origins of the Leningrad Mint date to 1724, when Peter the Great established a major minting facility in St. Petersburg as part of broader administrative and monetary reforms. Through successive periods - imperial, Petrograd, and Soviet - the mint became one of the principal centers for producing coins, medals, and state insignia.
