This medal commemorates the rare blooming of an aloe plant at the estate of Count Nils Gyldenstolpe in Noor, Knivsta Parish, Uppland, in 1708–1709. The aloe, a symbol of endurance and eventual reward, was seen as an allegory of Sweden's perseverance during the long war. The bust of King Karl XII connects the event to the broader national narrative of steadfastness. A rare and curious type, part of the Karlsteen medal school.
