The medal was silvered to enhance its appearance — a common historical practice intended to improve visual qualities by applying a silver or gold coating. In this case, the surface was silvered over existing nicks and scratches. It was also lighty darkened (patinated) to accentuate the finer details of the design. 

Obv.: Conjoined left-facing busts of Emperor Nicholas II and Emperor Peter I, both crowned with a laurel wreath.

(Emperor Peter I – Emperor Nicholas II). 

Rev.: A rectangular stone monument rises from the waves, bearing a dedication to the foundation of the Navigation School in 1701. Below it, palm and oak branches; to the right, naval symbols of the Cadet Corps.

This medal commemorates the bicentennial of the Naval Cadet Corps, originally founded as a navigation school by Peter the Great in 1701. The reverse combines maritime and classical motifs to honor Russia’s naval education and the Corps’ legacy of service to the empire.
