Latvia Bronze (Silvered) Prize Medal (1920s–1930s) – Latvian Hunting Association

62.28g. 50mm. AU/AU.

Medalier: Vilhelms Fridrichs Müller (signature at right: W. F. MÜLLER).

Obv.: Seated female figure with a spear (presumably the goddess Diana/Artemis), accompanied by two hounds; to the left — head of a stag (possibly Actaeon), above — laurel branch and tablet with the inscription.

Inscription in field:

LATVIJAS MEDNIEKU BIEDRĪBA

(Latvian Hunting Association).

Rev.: Empty central field framed by laurel and oak wreath tied with ribbon below.

This award and allegorical bronze medal was issued by the Latvian Hunting Association in the interwar period. The image of Diana and hunting dogs evokes classical mythology and symbolizes strength, vigilance, and tradition in hunting culture. Likely awarded or presented in recognition of service or participation in hunting events.
