Rev.: Goddess Ceres, seated on rye sheaves beside an oak tree, holding a laurel wreath in her left hand and a caduceus in her right. A sickle hangs on a branch above, and in the background, a landowner is seen plowing a field.
This medal was issued in honor of the Fellin (now Viljandi, Estonia) Estonian Agricultural Society, established in 1871 to promote rural economic development. The classical allegory on the reverse symbolizes fertility, prosperity, and the agricultural ideals embraced by such societies in the Russian Empire.
