3.10g. 30mm. AU/UNC. Beautiful specimen with well-defined relief details. A rare state of preservation for this type. 

Obv.: King's bust to right, wearing a winged crown with bull's head; Pahlavi legend. 

Rev.: Fire altar between two attendants with wheel symbols either side of flames. 

Mitchiner ACW 1507-1509; Göbl Hunnen type 198; Vondrovec ā-group. 

Perhaps minted by a local dynasty in the Kabul Valley. 


The Nezak Shahi kingdom was a polity of Hunnic/Hephthalite origin, located in the Kabul Valley and dating from the late fifth to the mid-seventh century AD. The history of this kingdom is primarily evidenced through its coinage.
