Russia (USSR) Badge of the Order of October the Revolution (1967-1991)

39.36g. 43mm. Sold as seen. Between its establishment and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, approximately 106,462 Orders of the October Revolution were awarded.

The Order of the October Revolution was a Soviet honor established on October 31, 1967, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was the second-highest Soviet order, following the Order of Lenin. The award recognized individuals and organizations for significant contributions to the advancement of communism, the state, or the enhancement of the Soviet Union's defense capabilities, both in military and civilian contexts.

The insignia featured a red star with golden rays between its points. At the center was a pentagon displaying the cruiser Aurora, symbolizing its role in the October Revolution. Above this image was a red banner inscribed with "Октябрьская Революция" ("October Revolution"). A hammer and sickle emblem was positioned at the bottom.
