Description of the feat: "Karl Wilhelm Krupp Blomberg, able seaman, ship “Hyderabad,” aged 19, rescued William Inez Black and Frederick William Thompson from drowning at Port Adelaide on November 3, 1909. Black and Thompson were working together on a stage over the ship's side,  when the former slipped and fell into the water. He was unable to swim, and Thompson went to his assistance. He got hold of Black, who clutched him by the legs, and he was not able to free himself, and both were sinking. Blomberg, working on the main upper topsail yard, over 60 feet above the water, saw the difficulty of the men, and immediately dived to their assistance and brought them to the surface. He held them up till some bystanders put off in a boat and rescued them all."

Karl Wilhelm Krupp-Blomberg was a Finnish sea captain who passed away suddenly on September 23, 1924, at the age of 34. Despite his young age, Krupp-Blomberg's contributions to maritime service were remembered in the Finnish seafaring community.

The Royal Humane Society of Australasia (RHSA), originally established as the Victorian Humane Society in 1874, is an Australian charity dedicated to recognizing individuals who risk their lives to save or attempt to save others. It also provides assistance to those injured during such acts of bravery or to the families of those who perish in the attempt. In 1882, the organization received Queen Victoria's consent to rename itself the "Royal Humane Society of Australasia.
